Instagram is a free photo and video sharing app available on iPhone and Android. People can upload photos or videos to our service and share them with their followers or with a select group of friends. They can also view, comment and like posts shared by their friends on Instagram. Anyone 13 and older can create an account by registering an email address and selecting a username.

You can create ads from Instagram once you've converted your profile to a professional account. In addition to creating ads on Instagram, you can also use Meta tools to create ads that appear on Instagram.
About Instagram Ads
There are 3 ways to run ads on Instagram:
  • Create ads directly from Instagram. Once you convert your profile to a professional account, you can boost feed posts, Reels and Stories from your Instagram account.
  • Create ads from your Facebook Page. If you manage a Facebook Page, you can link an Instagram account to that Page to create ads. When you create ads from your Page, they can appear on Facebook and Instagram.
  • Create ad campaigns in Meta Ads Manager. Ads Manager provides comprehensive tools to create ads on Facebook and Instagram. To create ads in Ads Manager, you must connect your Instagram account to a Facebook Page that you manage.
Each of these tools can be used to create ads on Instagram. Before creating ads, you must convert your profile to a professional account. In some regions, you’ll also need to connect your Instagram account to a Facebook Page you manage to run ads directly from Instagram.
Payments for Instagram Ads
It's up to you how much you want to spend on your Instagram ad. You'll choose a total budget, which is the total amount you want to spend on the ad. You'll also set a duration for your ad, which is the number of days you want your ad to run. Bear in mind that you'll never spend more than the total budget that you have set.
When you'll pay for your ads depends on how you pay for them. You can select a payment method at the end of setting up your first ad on Instagram. The payment method that you select determines your payment settings. There are two main payment settings for Instagram ads:
  • Automatic payments: We'll automatically charge you whenever you spend a certain amount, known as your billing threshold, and again on your monthly bill date for any leftover costs. This is how you'll pay if you use PayPal or most credit and debit cards to purchase ads.
  • Manual payments: You'll add money to your account first and then we'll deduct from that amount up to once a day as you run ads. This is how you'll pay if you use a manual payment method (e.g. PayTM) to purchase ads. With manual payments, you won't have a billing threshold.
You can also delete a boosted Instagram post at any time to stop paying for the ad.
